As long as you use a parachute too land. By your reasoning a base jump could be jumping a few meters and landing on your feet.

@xXsmoker1337Xx Nothing is stopping you from going out and getting a parachute and jumping off a cliff. However, if you want to do it more then once you need proper training.
You have to start with skydiving first and get a good few hundred jumps from aircraft before anyone will train you in base.

Not a regular base jumping but wingsuit base jumping. There’s a difference! In regular base jumps, you have seconds to open your parachute, otherwise you go splat. Wingsuit allows you to fly away from the cliff and do some gliding.
