Moosejaw Summer Clearance Sale. Free Shipping on Orders Over $49!

If you work out of a home office, you know the pulls between family and home. It is sometimes hard to have a firm line between work and home. Your office is only steps away so there are times you just come out for meals and sleep. As a result, your family life can often suffer.

If you have fallen into this rut, then it may be time to put work away in your home office storage and plan for a mini vacation with family or friends.

During the cold temperatures of winter, the ski slopes are perfect. You will find lots of fresh powder on those slopes so dig out the salomon ski equipment, gather some of the high protein snacks you have made with your black decker food processor, round up the family and head up to the ski resort.

When summer arrives, one low cost mini vacation is a trip to the beach. Take your time to enjoy the sun and the water so that you can be refreshed as you hit your work again tomorrow and get something accomplished.

Spring and autumn days are perfect for a hike in the woods or a drive through the country side. If you are an amusement park fan, these are often days of low attendance so you are able to take your time and ride some of your favorite rides. These days are also great ones for a visit to a park or a zoo.

Mini vacations do not have to be long. Sometimes it only takes an afternoon but at other times you may want to take a Friday and Monday to stretch a weekend into four days. Once you return to your work, you will have a fresh perspective and be able to get more done than if you had continued your normal hectic schedule.

All of us need a temporary diversion. The pressures of work and family can leave us frazzled. The mini vacation is a time that we are able to refocus and refresh to prepare for the challenges of life.

When was the last time that you spent a few hours or a few days with family or friends relaxing and enjoying everything around you? What are you waiting for? Make a couple of phone calls to make arrangements to be gone, and schedule your break right now. Even if you are not able to take a spontaneous mini vacation, planning a short trip for next week can give you something to look forward to and help you to set some goals for your work today.

Are you a beginner or an avid camper? No matter which one you are I am sure that you feel overwhelmed when trying to determine which camping gear to buy for your great adventure outdoors. It is up to you to decide what is right for you and your family when it comes to camping supplies.

Camping is entertainment and something that people of all ages can do. Older couples may enjoy RV’s while younger generations may prefer a tent no matter which route you go I am sure that you will have guaranteed fun. Camping allows for family time, relaxation and is all inexpensive.

Retail stores, outdoor stores and camping stores are all alike they seem to have an endless selection of camping gear so how do you know what to buy and what to leave on the shelf? It is all up to you the consumer to determine which ones you want to leave and take home.  One thing I always make sure to have on any trip, camping or not, is my black swiss army knife.

Many families purchase a few larger items such as tents, sleeping bags, lanterns and camping stoves and take the smaller items such as pots, pans and toiletries from home to save some money but everyone is different and likes to do it various ways. I like to keep all my camping supplies down to extra toiletries together so when we say let’s go all we have to do is grab some clothes and hit the road.

There are so many things from pots, pans, grills, containers, lanterns, food, tents, sleeping bags and everything in between that it makes it a whole lot easier just to purchase them all and pack them up so you can keep it all together as you need it.

Storage sheds, closets, garages they are all homes of camping containers and bins, by keeping all your camping gear together you can go grab it and go when planning a camping trip this allows for time saved packing and more time spent in the outdoors.

Any type of camping gear that you purchase is a great investment because it is durable and is made to withstand any type of weather and climate. Tents, stoves, sleeping bags, pots, pans, toiletry items, tables and air mattresses are just a few items that can be purchased before a camping trip.

The time spent with your family and friends roughing it are something that you can’t place a price tag on no matter how hard you try. The feeling of warmth as all of you sit around a campfire and enjoy each others company is great.

The World-Famous Winter Retreat In The Tarentaise Valley

Like the world’s fanciest hotels, the ski resorts of the Tarentaise Valley in France are synonymous with luxury and style for winter recreation. Some may remember its slopes from the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. One thing is for sure, those who have experienced the good life in this Savoy locale know how hard it is to leave.

Unfortunately, because of its remote location, the closest airport to the valley, Chamb’ry international, is nearly three hours away. However, it’s a small price to pay for staying among the French Alps and it offers visitors a good excuse to experience the Eurostar rail, which goes from Paris straight to the town Bourg-Saint-Maurice at the valley center.

Although skiing is not everyone’s hobby, the range of slopes here are astonishing. Escape Killy and La Plagne provide an combined area of 400 km worth of skiing. This covers everything from gentle cross-country slopes to the most intense black diamond runs, which are usually saved for the world’s best.

It’s not just daytime activities that draw so many visitors to this area. Perhaps more than any of other ski community, there is a strong focus on nightlife. The village towns of Albertville, Aime and Mo’tiers all have charming restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Here, a variety of visitors to the valley mingle after dark in their designer coats and leather brown boots.

If you plan to stay longer than a week, you might want to take a day off to recharge. A great idea is relax by the warm fire and crack open a book. There’s something about the atmosphere way up in the mountains that has always inspired writer, which is why so many have chosen it as a spot to think and get the creative juices flowing. With that in mind, you can grab a one of your favorite suspense books, sip on a warm latte and let the hours will melt away.

So, when you think about it, the choice of where to go for your winter recreation is obvious. The Tarentaise Valley has the most beautiful scenery and the best night life and is arguably the most artistically inspiring of all the ski communities in the world. Those reasons are enough to draw anyone to this spot, skiers or non-skiers. The only downside to visiting is that you may never want to leave.

A Latest Adventure Holiday In Norway For Men And Women

Skiing must have been invented in Norway or thereabouts as it originally was a form of transportation most suitable for the snowy slopes. Skis themselves have been dated as far back as two thousand years prior to the birth of Christ. Stone Age carvings on rocks discovered in the Scandinavian Peninsular give evidence of this.

Adventurers on holiday in Norway go by car to the different cities and trekking places. Small cabins at the foot of the glaciers and fjords accommodate the group of six to eight people. Getting ready for a ski, one of the visitors wears a black helmet preparing for the trip.

Fashionable winter style is in order for the colder region of the glacier although sometimes it can be quite warm with the sun reflecting off the snow. Women can wear light rabbit poncho in stylish red or crimson which really stands out on the snow fields. Along with black knitted leggings and white silk scarf, a woman can still look and feel her best out in the terrain.

Following in the footsteps of female cross country skiers, a classic skating style is used to make a way across the snow. Putting on a giro ski helmet, ski pants and boots, the group glides their way from point A to B. The sport has been part of the winter Olympics since nineteen twenty four.

Getting away from nature other beauties of Norway can be discovered. The Hanseatic Museum is a relic left over from the merchant days of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Being the only building that survived the fire of seventeen hundred and two, it is an architectural delight. Well worth the visit to see the days of old – very old – still surviving.

Staying true to having an adventurous time in Norway means taking the opportunity to do more than ski. River rafting is a popular adventure sport with the many rivers in the western areas of Norway. Kayaking is well loved here too. If water sports are your main interest, surfing lessons can also take place in the vast expansive country.

Another sporting adventure that is really popular in Norway is mountain biking. Taking a long ride through the mountainous terrain will certainly keep a person fit and healthy. It may also take the energy right out of you. Coming back to the cabin, a sit in front of the delonghi space heater will help take out some of the aches and pains from such exertion.

Getting Ready To Hit The Slopes

One of the fun things about winter is that you get to buzz down the slopes at your chosen ski field at some point. Skiing is great fun and it is also wonderful exercise building up strong thighs and stomach muscles. Before you get to the ski chalet though, there are some things that you need to do to get ready for your vacation.

Skiing is very physical and demanding on your body especially the thighs. For this reason you should try to get in shape before your ski trip. You can do this by doing some aerobic fitness and work on squats and lunges at home. This simple preparation might help reduce sore muscles and even possible injuries.

A great little item to pack into your luggage for after you have been on the mountain all day is a homedics massager. This can soothe sore muscles and get them ready for the next day’s skiing adventure. It may also help to dissipate some of the lactic acid build up that can also lead to sore muscles.

Before you go on your trip you should get out your alpine skiing equipment and check it over. Anything that needs to be replaced should be done before your trip as things that go wrong on the mountain could lead to injury occurring. Also if you need repairs done or replacements of equipment while at the ski fields, this tends to be much more expensive.

The physical side of skiing is not the only fun part. The fashion on the mountain is also part of the appeal for many people. You do not have to spend a lot of money to revamp your look, you can change small items such as gloves, hats and goggles.

Head to your local ski shop or hop online to check out the current trends in ski wear and apres ski wear. Checking out the current fashions and following suit will ensure that you look hot on the piste. Off the mountain tights, layered clothing and brown boot are the current look – black is not the new black so it would seem. One of the really fun things about the ski fields is that you can be a little crazier with your fashions and no one gives you strange looks.

With a little preparation in advance for your next ski trip you can ensure that you feel great, look fabulous and have the time of your life zooming up and down the ski runs with your friends.
